Blackmailing cop had been arrested

Kuala Lumpur: Four police constables were arrested for trying to extort money from a businessman.

On June 16, the man had lodged a police report claiming that he was blackmailed by a group of police personnel, said city acting police chief Senior Assistant Commisioner Datuk Amar Singh.

“On the following day, the police from Sentul police manage to arrested four police personnel aged between 28 and 34,” SAC Amar Singh said yesterday.

The four personnel have to be remanded until June 21.

He also added that a 27-years-old man was detained.

According to the businessman that he was being blackmailed of several thousand ringgit by the four constables one of them a woman who had threatened to frame him for a crime that dhe did not commit.

It is learnt for the personnel that are attached to the Sentul police district narcotics unit
The same district police Criminal Investigations Unit (CID) arrested the four of the police personnel.
