Malaysia won 3 PATA Gold Awards yesterday, the coveted prizes bagged are in the categories of Marketing – Primary Government Destination, which features a seven-minute long video titled A Million Experiences to Share on experiencing the country; Marketing Media – Travel Poster, for beautifully-taken photographs of local diving, the orang utan, Mount Kinabalu, Homestay and Siti Khadijah Market in Kota Bharu, Kelantan; and the Environment Education Programme, won by the Frangipani Langkawi Resort & Spa for the management of its waste water system.
“The awards given to Dato’ Sri Dr Ng Yen Yen, the industry, and Malaysia are really something for the ministry and Malaysia to shout about. It also gives us the impetus to strive harder for the generation after us,” said Tourism Malaysia acting Director- General Datuk Haji Azizan Noordin after the ceremony.
