Mersing 22 Dec 11-Massive floods hits southern region of Malaysia affecting few district in Johor. It occurs when precipitation falls too quickly on saturated soil that has poor absorption ability thus relying solely on drainage. The runoff collects in low-lying areas and rapidly flows and submerging houses and cars. Royal Malaysian Air Force once again came to the rescue in ‘Ops Murni’ supplying food, medical supply and transportation. They bravely endured the raging ocean to help the other citizen in other area as well such as Pulau Aur, Pulau Pemanggil, Pulau Besar, Pulau Tinggi and Pulau Sibu.
